Helping Children and their Families in Need
Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, second only to Haiti. Most of the poverty in Nicaragua exists rurally (more than 80 percent,) but there are also very impoverished neighborhoods in the capital.
Fortunately, the Nicaraguan economy has been growing substantially and has recently received lots of attention, having grown 30 percent since 2006. Despite all of this good news, a considerable amount of work still needs to be done before it can fully eradicate poverty.
We strive to help communities in need. We concentrate in few projects, rather than trying to get too much in our hands. Our Housing project is one of most needed projects, in 2015 we will built 5 homes for the poor or more.
Sports play an important role in children’s development, teaching them important social skills around sportsmanship, self-esteem and team work while providing them with a healthy alternative to just hanging out on the streets after school.
